Albany
Places to visit include early
buildings which give character to Albany and stunning coastal scenery -
- the Albany Residency (early
1850s), now a fine museum
- the Old Gaol, built in 1851 as a convict
hiring depot and from 1872 used as the district gaol
- Patrick Taylor Cottage, built around
1832 and one of the oldest buildings still standing in Albany
- The Old Farm Strawberry Hill, the first
farm established in Western Australia which boasts a two storey stone
house, built in 1836 as the private home of the Government Resident at
Albany
- The Old Post Office, opened in 1870, now
immaculately restored and one of Albany's undoubted treasures
- The Forts, a fascinating reminder of the
strategic value of Albany's harbour with its hidden gun batteries and
nearby barracks
- Whale watching cruises and viewing from local beaches
- Torndirrup National Park offers some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Australia, including the renowned Natural Bridge, the Gap, the Blow Holes and Jimmy Newell's Harbour
- Cheynes Beach Whaling Company ceased operating in 1978 and you can now visit Albany Whaleworld on that site - the only whaling museum created from a working whaling station. Attractions include the whalechaser Cheynes IV, photographic and art collections featuring marine mammals, an aircraft museum, whale skeletons and memorabilia
- Mount Romance Sandalwood Factory - enjoy a free tour, shop in the magnificent showroom, wine, dine or snack in the Cafe Sultan, sample the special sandalwood-infused wines, and experience the Tribal Dreaming Relaxation Centre featuring healing massage, floatation and The Cone, The Gong and The Bowl - a unique relaxation experience found only at the Sandalwood Factory
- Visit the Wind Farm or a winery, take a boat cruise, dive on the HMAS Perth wreck or explore the replica brig Amity - you will find yourself

Denmark
Denmark is a delightful small town set amongst forest and rolling hills and is home to many wonderful artists and craftspersons -
- Visit the artists in their studios, where they create outstanding paintings, sculptures, pottery, glass and fine wood pieces
- Excellent wineries also abound, some of which offer great food as well as fine wine
- At Bartholomews Meadery, one of the very few in Australia, other honey products as well as wine may be sampled and you can view the bees at work in their glass-walled hive
- William Bay National Park includes the renowned Green's Pool, which provides a safe and protected swimming area, Elephant Rocks, Waterfall Beach and Madfish Bay
- Whale watching is very popular from July to October from vantage points along the coast, including popular surfing spot Ocean Beach, and there are many great fishing spots
- The world famous Tree Top Walk in the Valley of the Giants offers an unforgettable experience
- Close by is Dinosaur World, a fun experience for young and old
- Denmark's main attraction lies in its stunning scenery and natural wonders and there are plentiful walk trails to allow the visitor to enjoy these to the full. If you like a challenge, the section of the famous Bibbulmun Track between Ocean Beach Road and Lights Road will take you right over the top of Mt Hallowell, where you will be rewarded with spectacular 360 degree views.
